UMF™ is a comprehensive quality trademark that measures multiple chemical markers including MGO, DHA, and Leptosperin, ensuring authenticity. MGO only measures methylglyoxal content. UMF™ is a stronger guarantee of genuine New Zealand Manuka honey.
Mānuka honey is made by bees that collect nectar from the Mānuka plant, a native plant deeply associated with Aotearoa New Zealand.
Its rarity comes from place, season, and nature: Mānuka blooms for only a short period each year, and each harvest reflects the land, weather, bees, and beekeepers behind it.
Every jar of Tāku begins with a fleeting bloom. For just 2–4 weeks each year, New Zealand’s native mānuka flowers release the nectar that gives true Mānuka honey its rarity and depth. With this in mind, we believe our honey is uniquely exceptional in quality, taste and provenance.
